You may have noticed that the prices of our monthly yarn boxes rose at the beginning of the year. Implementing price increases is never a decision we take lightly, particularly given the current cost of living crises and that so many of our customers are suffering economically as a consequence of both Covid and Brexit.
However, these rises were necessary given the soaring costs of raw materials as well as an increase in the cost of dyes, packaging and a rise in price of many of the items included as gifts in our specialist yarn boxes.
We hate to be the bearer of more bad news but unfortunately as of March 1, 2022, prices of Rowan yarns will be increasing by 5% and in the case of Rowan Kidsilk Haze 15%.
Our supplier informs us that this is due to an increase in the cost of raw materials, pressures due to the global supply chain and the increased costs at ports post Brexit. Unfortunately, these increases are too large for a small retailer like ourselves to absorb in any sustainable manner and we in turn will have to pass on these rises to you, the consumer.
Therefore, we strongly advise you to order any Rowan yarns this month before the price increases come into force.
